Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions are in place to facilitate a high quality service and to ensure that the procedures used for learning and assessment are fair and equitable.

We agree to provide the services specified and expect candidates to comply with the conditions that apply to them whist undertaking a learning and assessment programme with us.

Our Service to Learners (candidates)

In return for payment of a specified course fee in advance (by online debit/credit card or PayPal) we will:

  • provide an online learning and assessment facility* (via this web site or a mirror version) which will enable candidates to access syllabus details, learning materials, sources of information, reading material and hyperlinks to external sources, together with quizzes and assignments design to test underpinning knowledge and gauge readiness for external examinations (if applicable).
  • provide the services of an online tutor who will communicate with candidates via course forums, course chat rooms (if appropriate to the unit of study), and feedback regarding assignment work. Occasional email correspondence using the facilities within the learning environment only, may also be appropriate. NB: There will be a 5 working day gap between candidate enrolment and the actual candidate programme start date to enable us to ensure receipt of fees and to appoint an online tutor.
  • External examination fees and examination entry do not form part of the learning programme fee. We can provide external examination facilities at the Gosport Centre of Kawns Safety Services Ltd (if required), but candidates must make their own arrangements for this facility directly with Kawns.
  • We reserve the right to withdraw candidates from their learning programme (without refunding course fees), should candidates take an excessive time to complete modules, or if there are long periods of unexplained candidate inactivity.
  • We will not share candidate personal data with external agencies.
  • If candidates are sponsored by their employer, we will provide the employer with progress and grade information only following a specific request.

Candidates will:

  • Provide registration details (including a current and active email account) and pay course fees at the time of registration online.
  • Maintain the same external email account that they nominate at enrolment throughout the length of their learning programme.
  • Work through multiple unit programmes on a unit-by-unit basis in the order specified by the online tutor.
  • Work co-operatively through the learning and assessment materials in the topic order specified in the learning environment.
  • Maintain contact with their online tutor and explain reasons for inactivity, if they occur.

Candidates must not:

  1. Divulge system access details to friends or colleagues.
  2. Submit work that they have not created themselves

Failure to comply with candidate rules (1) and (2) will automatically exclude candidates from their learning and assessment programmes without refund of fees.
